Why join hands with Elephant Hills’ Projects?

  • Great opportunity to help less fortunate Thai children, support the endangered Asian Elephants or contribute to wildlife monitoring in one the world’s oldest rainforests
  • Elephant Hills hires its own Corporate Responsibility Manager who oversees all three projects together with a dedicated team
  • 100% of the donated funds go towards helping the agreed cause. No admin fees, travel fees or staff expenses are deducted by Elephant Hills
  • All funds are always turned into much needed equipment, we do not donate cash
  • Everything is transparent; we are happy to provide receipts, photos and description of the joint projects
  • Branded banner with your company logo is prepared for memorable, high-quality photos available to be used for marketing purposes, all without additional costs
  • We are glad to share the amazing results also with our bighearted followers through website articles, newsletters and social media

How to get involved?

Spread the word to your clients

  • The simplest way is to encourage your clients to bring something useful for the Children’s Project. We created a list of much needed material, which can be added to every Thailand itinerary including Elephant Hills. Second hand clothes that are in good condition, basic English books or school stationery can really make a big impact on the lives of some of the less fortunate Thai children.

One-off donations

  • Either monetary or donations of material, such as camera traps, stationery, school uniforms, gardening equipment etc.
  • For monetary donations, we can assess what kind of help is needed the most within the project of your choice. For example, if your company is interested in helping Thai elephants, we can contact an elephant hospital to discuss what kind of medical equipment or supplies are needed to support the domestic elephants treated in the hospital. On the other hand, if your company would like to contribute to wild elephant conservation, we would contact a National Park to see how we can help them to solve human-elephant conflicts by e.g. planting grass or building salt licks for wild elephants
  • We are more than happy to help where we can with fundraising, e.g. by sponsoring a voucher for an auction to raise money or similar

Long-term co-operations

  • A great option for continuous support is charging every client a little extra per booking to support a project of your choice (compulsory or voluntarily). One very successful partner of us asks clients for a 10 GBP donation and matches this with own funds, to then transfer a very decent lump sum at the end of every year. Hardly surprising: Every single client has decided to donate so far – and booking numbers have gone up!

Children’s Project

Our company objective at Elephant Hills has always been to work closely with the local community, and over the years we have done our best to focus our help towards improving children’s education in the rural areas. We are a tourism business, but we hope that the revenue from operating nature tours and funds donated by our guests and partners can make a difference in the lives of the less privileged children. As we are based in one of the world’s most magnificent rainforest areas, our aim is also to help the local children to learn about the importance of conservation of nature and environment. If you are planning for visiting us at Elephant Hills, be sure to check out our “pack with a purpose” list, participating doesn’t get any easier than this!

Elephant Conservation Project

The elephants at Elephant Hills are happy and content, with their days consisting of free roaming, eating, scratching, socializing and immersing themselves in the cooling pond or a mud pit. Unfortunately, not all elephants in Thailand are as lucky as ours, hence we started our Elephant Conservation Project over ten years ago. Within this project we try to help improving the welfare of domestic elephants by supporting government run elephant hospitals. We also contribute to wild elephant conservation by helping the Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks to prevent human-elephant conflicts.

Wildlife Monitoring Project

Our resorts, both in the mainland Khao Sok and floating on the spectacular Cheow Larn Lake are located in one of the world’s oldest rainforests. The breath-takingly beautiful and lush forests of Khao Sok National Park are home to numerous species of flora and fauna. Our Wildlife Monitoring Project began in 2011, shortly after we opened our Rainforest Camp. Sometimes you don’t have to go far from our floating camp to spot amazing wildlife, such as Malayan Sun Bears. However, we were curious to see what kind of wildlife roam deeper in the jungle, so we placed motion triggered camera traps in more remote areas, frequented by wildlife.
