We annually welcome a group of elephant veterinarians to our elephant camp from the Northern Thailand’s only Elephant Hospital, located in the province of Lampang. This hospital is operated under royal patronage by The National Elephant Institute and it is the first Elephant Hospital in Thailand. Due to our long co-operation, we are well aware of the dedication and importance of the hospital’s work, hence we wanted to do our part supporting it. After we selected a wide range of medical supplies with the guidance from the veterinarians, our Elephant Conservation Project team headed to the hospital to deliver the donation.
It was a great pleasure to meet the vet team at the hospital. After our meeting concerning elephant health care and upcoming training which also Elephant Hills’ veterinarian will take part in, the team showed us around in the hospital area. The most common conditions treated at the hospital include infections, flatulence, poisoning from insecticides and general accidents and injuries. With support from the Elephant Research and Education Center in Chiang Mai University, the Lampang Hospital takes care of elephants in the whole Northern Thailand, and have a mobile clinic at the ready for urgent cases.
We would like to thank our wonderful guests who have donated funds to our Elephant Conservation Project when visiting us at Elephant Hills. Thanks to your contribution, these essential medical supplies can help the hard-working veterinarians to save and improve the lives of Thai elephants!
We are currently looking for partners to co-operate with our Elephant Conservation Project. If you or your company would be interested, please contact us at [email protected].
