In Thailand, especially in the rural areas, schools play a vital role in students’ oral health education from an early age. To ensure that Baan Mae Tob Nuea School can encourage the students to actively take care of their teeth, Elephant Hills Children’s Project donated tooth brushes in various sizes as well as tooth paste to all 77 students. This donation was specifically requested by the teachers during our previous visit at the school.
In addition, the teachers had also mentioned that several walls around the school grounds and facilities could do with a fresh layer of paint, and many of the playground equipment were worn out and rusty. With the funds donated by our lovely guests, we were able to buy not only the toothbrushes and paste, but also paints and brushes to help to enhance the school’s common areas. On our company’s behalf we also donated four large pieces of playground equipment.
On the day of delivering the donations, we arrived at Baan Mae Tob Nuea School together with heavy rain. Although we needed to give up our plans of helping the teachers and students with painting due to the weather, everyone was in an excellent mood because of the sheer joy of the students. The kindergarten students were ready to start brushing their teeth immediately after seeing the colorful toothbrushes waiting for them. We were also certain that as soon as the rain would stop, the students would race to the playground to try out the new equipment.
With your help we can continue to improve the education, school facilities and study motivation of the unprivileged Thai children. We are currently looking for companies to co-operate with our Children’s Project through corporate sponsorship. Would you like to help us to support the education of some of the less fortunate Thai children? Please contact us at [email protected], we are happy to provide more information and discuss the options.
