Elephants, rainforests, lakes and nature adventures, what could be more fun?

We are excited to announce, that we have once again been audited by Global Spirit, an independent UK-based company, assessing animal welfare standards for the travel industry.

With Global Spirit having written the first animal welfare audits for the travel and tourism industry and developed what was previously untested industry criteria, Global Spirit’s audits are the most recognised and are specific to the animals on site and the activities or interactions being offered.

Leading the way in elephant welfare

We have been positively engaged in the audit process since the first audit visit on 6 September 2017 and we were the first elephant camp globally to achieve 100% of minimum requirements:

“It isn’t easy to achieve 100% of minimum requirements, especially within the two week audit period. They are not only the first elephant camp to achieve this rating but the first worldwide animal attraction to reach 100% within the two week audit period. Global Spirit has been impressed with Elephant Hills engagement in the whole process and their ongoing commitment to continue making positive improvements.”

Hayley Lynagh, Managing Director – Global Spirit Animals In Tourism Ltd.

Elephant Hills Exceeds Criteria

Elephant Hills is proud to announce that we have now achieved 100% of Core Criteria – again – and additionally, level 5 of Exceeded Requirements in the categories: Enclosures and environmental complexity, Veterinary Care, Movement of animals, Record keeping and Food preparation and storage.

We are also commended for guest education and for a significant contribution to community engagement, conservation and research.

“I would like to officially congratulate Elephant Hills on not only being the first animal experience provider to be assessed against Exceeds Requirements levels but in attaining the maximum Level 5.”

Hayley Lynagh, Managing Director – Global Spirit Animals In Tourism Ltd.

We pride ourselves on our unique ethical Elephant Experience, providing our guests with a more personal approach: excluding hooks, chains and riding, taking place in a free-roaming environment for our beloved elephants.

Our achievements would not be possible without our valued guests and partners, who we would like to thank at this stage for their continued support!

Make sure you also check out our Elephant Conservation Project helping other elephants in Thailand; both domestic and wild populations.
