Supporting Elephants Beyond Our Camps:
Elephant Hills and The Bush Camp Chiang Mai,
At Elephant Hills and The Bush Camp Chiang Mai, we take great pride in supporting elephant welfare in Thailand by providing the highest level of care for the elephants in our camps. However, we are also very aware that many elephants across Thailand, particularly in rural villages, do not always have access to the same level of care.
In many cases, elephant owners lack the financial means to provide proper veterinary treatment, and access to experienced elephant vets can be limited.

This is why we are proud to support the Asian Elephant Foundation of Thailand, an organisation that conducts outreach trips to remote areas along the Thai–Myanmar border twice a year. Their mission is to provide essential veterinary care to elephants in need — those suffering from injuries, wounds, or illness.
As part of our long-standing commitment to elephant welfare, our team has had the opportunity to actively support these initiatives. When possible, we contribute by sending experienced veterinary professionals to join these field trips — often for extended periods of up to one month.

These missions are not only a way to support the Asian Elephant Foundation of Thailand, but also a collaborative effort with veterinary professionals from other leading organisations, including The Elephant Hospital – Lampang and the Thai Elephant Conservation Center. This collaboration creates valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and hands-on experience, while enabling our veterinary team to further develop their skills and learn directly from highly experienced elephant specialists in the field.

During these missions, the team provides
Health checks and microchip verification to ensure compliance with legal requirements.Basic treatments such as deworming and vitamin supplements ,Medical care and wound treatment, all provided free of charge.
Through the Elephant Hills Conservation Project, we have been supporting the Asian Elephant Foundation of Thailand and other local organisations for over 20 years. We remain committed to continuing this work and doing our part to improve the welfare of elephants across Thailand — not only within our camps, but beyond.
