Sharing smiles at Baan Mae Tob Tai School on Children’s Day
Our Elephant Hills team visited Baan Mae Tob Tai School during Thai Children’s Day, bringing support made possible by donations from our partner Hideaway4You to students living in the beautiful but challenging Mae Sariang area of Northern Thailand.
Winter Visit
When we arrived at the school, the chilly Northern Thailand winter surrounded us with temperatures dropping to about 10°C. This cold showed us the challenges students face while learning and living in this region.
Understanding the School’s Big Challenges
Schools like Baan Mae Tob Tai often receive less support than those near the Myanmar border, leaving students and teachers with limited resources for learning and living.
Many students come from the Myanmar border and live in dormitories, with boys and girls in separate areas. Life in the dorms is difficult—students sleep on thin sheets on the floor, lack proper bedding, and face shortages of water and food.
In 2019, we built a dormitory for the school. On our recent visit, we were pleased to see it still in good condition, providing a safe home for the students.
Making Students Feel Special with New Uniforms
When we gave out the new uniforms donated by our partner Hideaway4You, we saw how happy the children were to have clothes that fit them well and make them feel proud. Each uniform is more than just clothing – it’s a symbol of care and support.
Elephant Hills is committed to supporting Baan Mae Tob Tai School for a long time. We will keep working with the teachers and students to help them have a better learning environment and more opportunities.
A big thank you to all our guests, and partners who help us make these good things happen. Together, we can make a real difference in these children’s lives.
