We are excited to announce yet another new project within Elephant Hills Children’s Project, this time at Wat Tham Wararam School, located just behind the curve, nearby our elephant camp. We have a close, long relationship with Wat Tham Wararam School, having facilitated several donations at the school over the years. The students from this school are also part of Elephant Hills’ evening program and come to the resort to perform traditional Thai dancing to our guests, rotating with other schools in the area.
During one of our regular visits and chats with the teachers we found out that the condition of the bathrooms is very poor and the facilities are inadequate for 360 students of Wat Tham Wararam School. We are coordinating an important project to improve the basic school facilities by renovating the bathrooms in co-operation with Thomas Cook Children’s Charity, that has kindly provided funds for this project.
To officially announce the start of this project, the students and teachers welcomed Thomas Cook Charity Ambassadors and Elephant Hills Children’s Project team to the school. They introduced the class rooms and had even arranged a nice Thai cooking demonstration to impress their guests. The children were also thrilled to receive various kinds of games, stationery and toys donated by Thomas Cook Children’s Charity, and didn’t hold back testing them out with the Charity Ambassadors and Elephant Hills staff.
Stay tuned for more updates on this wonderful project!
