Elephant Hills Welcomes Future Veterinarians from Walailak University
On 6 October 2026, Elephant Hills was delighted to welcome 48 fourth-year veterinary students from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Walailak University, accompanied by their lecturers, for an educational visit focused on elephant healthcare, welfare, and wildlife medicine.
Elephant Hills has been proudly hosting veterinary students from Walailak University every year, as part of our ongoing commitment to education, knowledge sharing, and responsible elephant care.
During their visit, the students learned directly from our experienced veterinary team about elephant healthcare, welfare management, and the importance of understanding elephants’ natural behaviours and individual needs. Practical sessions included routine physical examinations, vital sign monitoring, and learning how to approach and work with elephants safely and respectfully during clinical procedures.
Our veterinary team was pleased to share their practical knowledge and real-world experiences in Ethical Elephant Care, highlighting how responsible management, preventive healthcare, and respect for natural behaviours contribute to the long-term health and wellbeing of elephants.
At Elephant Hills, we strongly believe that education plays a vital role in shaping the future of elephant welfare. By sharing our knowledge with the next generation of veterinarians, we hope to equip them with the understanding, skills, and compassion needed to care for elephants, improve welfare standards, and contribute to elephant conservation in Thailand.
These annual visits are more than just educational experiences. They are an opportunity to inspire future veterinary professionals, encourage the exchange of ideas, and strengthen our shared commitment to responsible animal care.
We are proud to continue supporting veterinary education and look forward to welcoming more students in the years ahead.
