As part of our ongoing commitment to wildlife conservation, Elephant Hills recently supported the installation of new camera traps in collaboration with Khao Sok National Park. On 24 July 2026, members of our team worked alongside Khao Sok National Park officers and rangers to replace four camera traps that had been damaged by wildlife, helping to ensure the continuation of long-term wildlife monitoring within the rainforest.

Camera traps are an essential tool for conservation and scientific research. They enable researchers to monitor wildlife populations, study animal behaviour, identify species diversity, and better understand how animals use their natural habitat, all without disturbing them. The information collected provides valuable insights that support conservation planning, biodiversity research, and the long-term protection of wildlife.

Replacing damaged equipment is a normal part of field conservation work. Curious animals, particularly wild elephants, occasionally investigate or damage camera traps placed in the forest. While this presents challenges for researchers, it also demonstrates that these protected forests remain healthy ecosystems where wildlife continues to thrive naturally.
