Making Thai students’ days better: Ratchaprapha Wittayakom School
Elephant Hills joins hands with Make My Day Better, facilitating a donation of sports equipment and musical instruments at Ratchaprapha Wittayakom School
We were very pleased to team up with Make My Day Better for two of our most recent Children’s Project donations. Ratchaprapha Wittayakom School is located close to Cheow Larn Lake, not far from the pier where our guests hop into long tail boats for the scenic ride to the Rainforest Camp. It is a high school with 183 students aged from 13 to 18 years, educated by 16 teachers.
A couple of months ago, we visited the school and spoke with the teachers to get an understanding of the school’s situation and needs. It turned out that the school was lacking sports equipment and musical instruments, as the old equipment were worn off, broken or insufficient. We were excited to return to this school after such a warm welcome on the first visit, this time with the equipment they had requested.
With funds donated by Make My Day Better, we purchased an amazing set of musical instruments and sports equipment. The donation consisted of marching drum set, saxophone, trumpet, melodions, bell lyras, footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, futsal balls, petanque sets, table tennis table, net and rackets, sepak takraw balls, basketball nets, volleyball net, running batons and starting blocks. The head master and teachers gave several excited speeches to express their gratitude, and a student representative also took time to say thank you on behalf of all the students.
We are confident that the teachers and students at Ratchaprapha Wittayakom School will make the best use of the new equipment. This kind of donation doesn’t only support the students’ physical and musical education, but can also provide a meaningful hobby and a way to make friends. Who knows, maybe someone will be inspired to become a professional musician or an athlete after being given access to good quality equipment.
