Making Thai students’ days better: Baan Pattana School
Elephant Hills facilitates donation of school uniforms and musical instruments, sponsored by Make My Day Better
Thanks to the generous donation from Make My Day Better, we were not able to help one, but two schools close to Cheow Larn Lake in Khao Sok!
This time, we were pleased to return to Baan Pattana School, after our previous donation of sports equipment and stationery. During our meeting with the headmistress in the previous visit, we found out that 50 students out of 241 attending Baan Pattana School, come from very poor families.
In Thailand, the kindergarten, primary and secondary education at government schools is provided free of charge. However, some of the poorest families struggle with buying the school uniforms, bags and basic stationery. In addition to school uniforms and bags, the school was lacking musical instruments, especially marching drum set which is essential in all school and village events and ceremonies in Thailand.

The students and teachers had really taken effort to arrange the event to welcome our Children’s Project team. An assembly room with stage was prepared, and even the local education authorities were invited to join. When our team started unloading the school uniforms, bags and musical instruments from the boxes to the stage, the excitement in the room and smiles on students’ faces were simply overwhelming.
A group of students wanted to try out their new uniforms, and you could clearly see how happy and proud they were in their brand new and clean outfits. Having proper uniforms will definitely increase their motivation to come to school each day, and try their best with studies. The musical instruments were not left resting on the stage much longer either, as the students wanted to test them instantly. We were treated with a surprise marching band performance with the new drum set, and were astonished by the students’ skills and enthusiasm.
Make My Day Better is the charity arm of DialAFlight and the Lotus Group, and we teamed up for another recent donation at Ratchaprapha Wittayakom School, also located close to Cheow Larn Lake in Khao Sok.
